Frequently Asked Questions
Clegal - Lawyers answers your questions.
What is a lawyer?
A lawyer is a legal professional who has completed a comprehensive legal education. In principle, they have completed five years of law studies at a university and two years of postgraduate training, which is followed by the bar exam. Therefore, they have spent at least seven years thoroughly studying the nuances of the law.
What is the difference between a lawyer and a legal expert?
The lawyer is a specialist in legal procedures. The profession is regulated by law and has a monopoly on representation in certain matters.
It is therefore preferable to seek advice from a lawyer rather than a legal expert.
What is the purpose of a lawyer?
A lawyer can act as an advisor and/or as a representative.
He can intervene outside of any dispute, for example, to develop a strategy or assess the chances of success of a procedure.
If he acts as a representative, the lawyer then intervenes in the name and on behalf of his client, thanks to the powers granted to him through a power of attorney.
Are there any inexpensive lawyers?
Lawyers are generally paid an hourly rate. This rate depends on several factors, including the complexity of the case, the interests involved, the time frame for completion, and the personal situation of the client.
Chez Clegal nous mettons un point d’honneur à permettre au plus grand nombre d’avoir accès à un avocat, c’est pourquoi nos tarifs sont généralement fixés en dessous des tarifs usuellement pratiqués.
The fees will be discussed at the first meeting, and this will be done with complete transparency.
Cheap is already too expensive for me. What now?
If the conditions are met, it is possible to request legal aid from the State. If granted, the State advances the lawyer's and court fees. The beneficiary will reimburse them if they are able to.
Clegal is available to assist its clients in this process.
If the conditions for legal aid are not met, the firm accepts payment arrangements as long as they are regular.
How to make an appointment?

This first consultation allows you to define your interests, objectives, and chances of success.
What are Clegal’s fees?
Clegal aims to be an affordable firm. The fees are discussed transparently during the first appointment.
If necessary, payment arrangements are possible as long as they are regular.
Furthermore, Clegal also accepts mandates for legal aid.
Do the fees have to be paid in advance?
It is customary for the lawyer to request advances at the beginning and during the mandate.
Advances refer to an amount deposited as a guarantee for the payment of future fees. This amount will then be credited against the final invoice.
The issue of the advance will be discussed during the first appointment to help you avoid unpleasant surprises.

Clegal is a generalist and practical firm in all areas of law.
This cross-disciplinary practice allows the firm to have a comprehensive and innovative view of cases, far from the narrow and closed vision of ultra-specialized firms.
